Web Site Design

Timeframe: 2nd Semester
Status: Elective
Prerequisites: 10th Grade Standing and Instructor Approval


The basis of static web site design will be introduced within the context of creating a personal site, where writing skills will be utilized in the ongoing process of creating an informative web site. Over the course of the semester, students will demonstrate their ever increasing knowledge of web site design by fulfilling projects, which will cumulate in a user friendly web site.

Alternate Program: Students who show an interested can opt for inclusion in the JAVA Programming course, which will run concurrently with the Web Site Design course.

This book covers how to teach beginning web page design to students using a real world project based approach. Little web programming knowledge is need on the part of the teacher as this course relies on student self discovery and research skills to complete course.

This course is designed to teach students how to use digital media in their everyday lives to help them present a message. Students may use subject content from other ASA classes. A strong social constructivist component will be part of the curriculum.
